Isabelle Leong

Hi! I’m Isabelle, the founder and designer of Pocketease. ShortEase was inspired by my aunt, who has lived with diabetes since childhood and wears a tethered insulin pump. She loves wearing dresses, but finding a comfortable and discreet way to wear her pump with them was often a challenge.

While pursuing my degree in Apparel Technical Design, after previously earning my degree in Fashion Design, I took a Design Innovations course that challenged us to create something that wasn’t already being sold in the market. I immediately thought about my aunt and the difficulty she had finding a comfortable, discreet way to wear her insulin pump with the dresses she loved. I began thinking about what would make that easier — where the pump could sit, how to keep it secure and discreet, how to manage the tubing, and how to access the pump when needed.

That idea became ShortEase — patent-pending insulin pump undershorts designed with two discreet, zippered pump pockets and built-in tubing pass-throughs. The two pocket locations give women options for different outfits: an inner-thigh pocket for more fitted dresses and skirts, and a front-thigh pocket for looser or flowy styles.

What began as a school design project grew into Pocketease, and today ShortEase is helping women wear the dresses and skirts they love while carrying their insulin pumps more comfortably and confidently.

I’m so grateful to every woman who has tried ShortEase, shared her experience, or recommended it to someone else. My hope is that something I originally designed to solve one woman’s everyday problem can make getting dressed a little easier for many more.
